description
Rosalind Franklin at work in a laboratory. Rosalind Franklin's contribution to the understanding of the DNA structure has now been acknowledged, but at the time her work did not receive full recognition and credit for the discovery went to James Watson, Maurice Wilkins and James Crick, who were awarded the Nobel Prize in 1962. Franklin moved to labs at Birkbeck College, University of London. She died of cancer in 1958.
